This specimen was lot 24413 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $822.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 1/2 Escudo 1855-JB, MS61 NGC Norweb Collection (with the original envelope), extremely bold obverse details due to a concave strike. Rare grade for this series." The SCWC lists this date as common but this type almost never appears fully struck.
Recorded mintage: 8,822 including assayer GW.
Specification: 1.60 g, 0.875 fine gold, .045 troy oz AGW.
