This specimen was lot 1235 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA: Republic, AR real, Popayan, 1834-PN, assayer RU, doubled 4, but different from that pictured in Restrepo, softly struck in centers, rare key date, PCGS graded VF20, R." This type was struck at Bogota and Popayan 1827-36.
Recorded mintage: unknown but a rare date.
Specification: 3.1 g, 0.666 fine silver, 19 mm diameter.
