This crown was the first attempt by Colombia to strike eight reales since the Cundinamarca issues of 1819-21. It was struck 1834-36 in substantial numbers and is fairly available today in circulated condition. It was replaced in 1837 by KM 92. The specimen shown was lot 9043 in Bowers and Merena 2009 Baltimore Auction, where it sold for $1,433. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 8 Reales, 1834. Dark toning, sharply struck. Attractive UNCIRCULATED."

Specification: 27.02 g, 0.835 fine silver, .725 troy oz ASW.
