Sedwick sale 11, lot 984

The specimen shown was lot 984 in Sedwick sale 11 (Winter Park, FL, April 2011), where it sold for $4,255. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Bogotá, Colombia, bust 2 reales, Charles III, 1773VJ, rare. Richly rainbow-toned VF, well struck, no problems. Jorge Ortiz Murias collection of Colombian colonial minors."

The SCWC lists five dates for Nuevo Reino between 1772-84, all rare.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.896 fine silver, .194 troy oz ASW, this specimen 6.5 grams.
