Sincona sale 101, lot 4200

This specimen was lot 4200 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$302 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Graubünden, Chur, Bistum. Joseph Mohr von Zernez, 1627-1635. 10 Kreuzer 1630, Chur. Mitriertes Wappen. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Switzerland, canton of Grisons, bishopric of Chur, Joseph Mohr von Zernez, 1627-35, ten kreuzer of 1630, Chur mint, with mitred arms. Very rare in this condition, About Uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1630-35. The SCWC states that this is the most common date. It superseded an earlier type without a miter over the arms (KM 80). Meanwhile, the city struck its own ten kreuzers (KM 228).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 4.5 g, silver, 28 mm diameter, this specimen 3.12 g.
