This specimen was lot 34222 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $411.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Chur. City 10 Kreuzer 1629 MS64 NGC. The fields of this near-Gem are adorned by pastel gunmetal blue, delicate turquoise, and light orange colors throughout the surfaces. A sharp strike and almost perfect centering further compliments this outstanding coin. All considered, deserving of a premium bid. From the Redwood Collection, Part II." This type was struck 1629-37 in sufficient numbers that it lists in the SCWC as a fairly cheap coin tho this specimen sold for 50% more than the catalog value. Chur, along with the rest of Switzerland, left the Empire in 1648 as part of the Treaty of Westphalia which ended the Thirty Years War. Below St. Luke on the reverse is the city arms, which feature a leaping ibex.
