The first specimen was lot 71501 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHILE. 10 Pesos, 1976-So. Santiago Mint. NGC PROOF-66 Ultra Cameo. Struck to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the liberation of Chile. This wholesome modern commemorative delivers a sharp strike and wholesome details throughout." This type was struck 1976-80 and all dates are common. Specification: 8.9 g, copper-nickel, 28 mm diameter, reeded edge. The first specimen appears to be struck in silver.
