This specimen was lot 999 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $420. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA: Elizabeth II, 1952-2022, AR 50 dollars, 2023, Pingualuit Crater: Crystal Eye of Nunavik with posthumous portrait of the Queen, with COA and original deluxe case of issue with outer box, Proof. As per the Royal Canadian Mint, 'Discover the beauty of Pingualuit Crater Lake... then activate the black light paint technology to see how it came to be! In the heart of the lunar-esque landscape of the Ungava Peninsula, in Nunavik, Quebec, lies a breathtaking lake with pure blue waters that stand out in any aerial view. Most have the queen's portrait even tho she had died the year before. Her son, Charles III, authorized this to reduce the waste of dies.
