Steve Album sale 54, lot 3136

This specimen was lot 3136 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted,

"CANADA: Elizabeth II, 1952-2022, AR 20 dollars, 2015, Baby Animals Series - Mother with young burrowing owl in color, with COA and original clamshell black beauty case and outer box, Proof. As per the Royal Canadian Mint, "Young Burrowing Owls are particularly endearing for their extra-long legs that stick out from beneath their bodies like stilts. It's an adaptation for living on the grasslands; with few trees to perch on, Burrowing Owls have evolved to sprint along the ground to capture prey. And without trees for nesting, Burrowing Owls have adapted by living underground in abandoned badger, gopher or prairie dog homes. The chicks stay in the den for the first two weeks, but will soon emerge to explore their world and develop their hunting skills."
