This specimen was lot 37806 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. 50 Cents, 1986. Ottawa Mint. Elizabeth II. NGC MS-67. Issued as part of an uncirculated set." This type was struck 1978-89 in modest quantities but, being extensively saved, no date is rare. A few varieties, such as the 1982 small beads, are scarce. The last year struck for circulation was 1985.
Recorded mintage: 781,400 plus 175,745 proofs.
Specification: 8.1 g, nickel, 27.1 mm diameter, reeded edge.
