This specimen is one of a type struck at the Ottawa Mint for Canada 1978-89. The prior type (KM 75.2) had a slightly different reverse. This is the last year the denomination was struck for circulation; it has only been struck for collectors since.

Recorded mintage: 2,188,374 plus 157,037 proofs.

Specification: 8.10 g, nickel, 27.13 mm diameter.
