This specimen was lot 23236 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $1,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V Cent 1949 A to Denticle, MS65 Red ICCS, amongst the finest known of this rare variety. A bright red specimen with the lightest touches of purplish tone on the high points." This type, struck at Ottawa 1948-52, is common in all grades tho the mintages are lower than those of World War Two.

Specification: 3.24 g, bronze, 19.1 mm diameter, plain edge.
