This specimen was lot 74609 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. 25 Cents, 1942. Ottawa Mint. George VI. PCGS MS-65. This Gem captures the eye with its swirling violet hues. From the Barbaro Acres Collection." This type was struck for George VI 1937-47 and this is an uncommon date. In 1948, "ET IND IMP" was dropped from the obverse legend (KM 44) and the modified type was issued 1948-52. Silver was removed from the quarter in 1968.
