Stack's Bowers 2025 NYINC sale, lot 37777

This specimen was lot 37777 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. Cent, 1938. Ottawa Mint. George VI. PCGS MS-64 Red." This type was struck 1937-47 and varies from the later George VI cent by retaining the "IND IMP" in the obverse legend. This date is common. The maple leaf reverse was used until cents were discontinued in 2014.

Recorded mintage: 18,365,608 plus proofs.

Specification: 3.24 g, bronze, 19.1 mm diameter, plain edge.
