This specimen was lot 24100 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $9,987.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V Specimen 5 Cents 1929, SP67 NGC, a virtually perfect coin with light gray surfaces and incredibly sharp design features. Very rare when graded this high." The type was struck 1922-36 (superseding a silver coin similar to the half dime) and is common in circulated condition. This date is common up thru MS-60.
