This specimen was lot 24116 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $9,987.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V Specimen 50 Cents 1929, Specimen 66 NGC, gorgeous satiny surfaces with subtle golden patina emerging in the legends, a superb example of this presentation coinage. Very rare, especially in this elite grade."
Recorded mintage: 228,328 (a common date).
Specification: 11.66 g, 0.800 fine silver, .300 troy oz ASW.
