This specimen was lot 20223 in Heritage sale 3021 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $3,055. The catalog description[2] noted, "George V 50 Cents 1918, KM25, MS65 PCGS, a choice example with full mint brilliance and attractive tan and silvery-gray patina. Highly elusive in this certified grade." This type was struck 1912-19 and was superseded by KM25a, struck 1920-36, which was only 0.800 fine silver. This is a common date of the type but is scarce in high grade.
