Canada 1882-H 25 cents

from Stack's Bowers October 2020 Collectors Choice sale, lot 71235

This specimen was lot 71235 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2020), where it sold for $336. The catalog description^[1] noted, "CANADA. 25 Cents, 1882-H. Heaton Mint. Victoria. PCGS AU-53 Gold Shield. Moderately toned with some intermingled multicolored iridescence." The type was struck in 1858 and 1870-1901. Despite the ample mintage, this date is rather scarce in nice condition.

Recorded mintage: 600,000.

Specification: 5.81 g, 0.925 fine silver, 23.2 mm diameter, reeded edge.
