This type was struck 1870-1901 and superseded the disliked twenty cent piece. This Heaton mint issue is a common date but like all Canadian quarters of the period, is very scarce in nice condition.

Recorded mintage: 1,600,000.

Specification: 5.81 g, 0.925 fine silver, .173 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
