The Kingdom of Bulgaria arose after the weakening of the Ottoman Empire and continued up to World War II. All coinage post-WWII was for the People's Republic, up to the collapse of the Communist regime in 1989. Thereafter it was reformed as a Republic. The coin shown is a one lev.
