This specimen was lot 73263 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "BULGARIA. 25 Leva, 1989. Sofia Mint. PCGS PROOF-67 Deep Cameo. Wildlife Preservation Series, Brown Bear and Cubs. Very exactingly struck, this handsome example is a beautiful example that should appeal to all lovers of animals." The silver commemoratives issued by the regime shrank as inflation bit even tho these were never intended to circulate. Other twenty-five leva for 1989 included KM 187 (soccer), KM 189 (Olympics) and KM 190 (Winter Olympics). The regime was swept away in 1989-90.
