This specimen was lot 22225 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "BULGARIA. 50 Stotinki, 1988. PCGS Mint Error MS-65 Secure Holder. The planchet shows three clips plus a primary strike that is slightly off center. Mint errors of this magnitude are usually scratched and nicked by the ejection mechanism, but this one is not." All coinage post-WWII was for the People's Republic, up to the collapse of the Communist regime in 1989. This type was struck for Bulgaria 1974, 1979-80, 1988-90 and is common.
