Stack's Bowers September 2025 Collectors Choice Online Auction, lot 74283

This specimen was lot 74283 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $105. The catalog description^[1] noted, "BULGARIA. Mint Error -- Double Clipped Planchet -- Stotinka, 1988. Sofia Mint. PCGS MS-65." This type was struck for circulation 1974, 1979-81 and 1988-90. The mintage figures seem to be state secrets but the coin is very common.

Recorded mintage: 35,000 plus 15,000 proofs.
