Stephen Album internet sale 28, lot 923

This specimen was lot 923 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $48. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRUNSWICK-WOLFENBÜTTEL: Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand, 1780-1806, AR 1/12 thaler, Braunschweig, 1794-MC, choice AU." This denomination was first struck for this state in 1684. It was struck steadily throughout the eighteenth century, generally with the leaping stallion design shown here, until 1830. This type was struck 1780-1806 and is fairly common.
