This specimen was lot 55549 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 24 Mariengroschen, 1787-C. Zellerfeld Mint. Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand. About Uncirculated Details -- Cleaned. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This was the only design used on the gulden in 1787. By this time, the gulden had slipped from two-thirds to half a thaler.
