This specimen was lot 55496 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 24 Mariengroschen, 1693. Zellerfeld Mint. Rudolph August & Anton Ulrich. About Uncirculated Details -- Scratched. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." Three different gulden were struck in 1693 for Rudolph August and Anton Ulrich: KM 559, shown here, struck 1685-1704, common; KM 586, with a leaping stallion reverse, struck 1690-93, fairly common; and KM 608 struck 1693-94, scarce. The two brothers ruled together until Rudolph's death in 1704.
