Künker Auction 425, lot 2121

This specimen was lot 2121 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €2,600 (about US$3,682 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHE MÜNZEN UND MEDAILLEN · BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM Rudolf August und Anton Ulrich, 1685-1704. Reichstaler 1693, Goslar oder Zellerfeld. RR Attraktives Exemplar mit feiner Patina, vorzüglich. Exemplar der westfälischen Privatsammlung „Mehrfachportraits auf Münzen und Medaillen", Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 394, Osnabrück 2023, Nr. 4922. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, Rudolf Augustus and Anthony Ulrich, 1685-1704, thaler of 1693, Goslar or Zellerfled mints. Very rare, attractive example with fine patina, extremely fine.)"

The SCWC notes three different thalers from this state in 1693: KM 577/Dav-6395, KM 593/Dav-6389 and KM 602.1/Dav-6396 (shown here). This type was struck 1692-93 and is very scarce, verging on rare.
