This specimen was lot 4156 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €750 (about US$984 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBUTTEL, August der Jüngere, 1635-1666. Reichstaler 1657, Zellerfeld. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Augustus the Younger, 1635-66, thaler of 1657, Zellerfeld mint. Very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1656-61 and 1664 along with Dav-6341 ("houseboy" thaler) and Dav-6343 (wild man). It superseded Dav-6351, with the duke's bust facing left.
