Sincona sale 26, lot 2635

This specimen was lot 2635 in Sincona sale 26 (Zürich, October 2015), where it sold for 1,500 CHF (about US$1,853 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"August der Jüngere, 1635-1666 Taler o. J. Zellerfeld. Fast vorzüglich. Hübsche Patina. Winz. Schrötlingsfehler. (Germany, principality of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, August the Younger, 1635-66, undated thaler, Zellerfeld mint. Choice extremely fine, handsome patina, minor planchent defects.)"

The SCWC lumps all the various "reise thaler" into KM 446. It is a fairly scarce type.
