This specimen was lot 77226 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $528. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Calenberg & Luneburg (Celle). Taler, 1658. Christian Ludwig. ALMOST UNCIRCULATED Details--Scratched." Christian Ludwig was duke in Calenberg 1641-48 and in Celle 1648-65. His younger brother Georg Wilhelm was duke in Calenberg 1648-65 and in Celle 1665-1705. The last brother, Ernst August, was duke in Calenberg 1679-98 and elector of Hannover 1692-98. This type is listed under Brunswick-Luneburg-Celle, not -Calenberg, and is recorded for 1649-65, the entire reign of duke Christian Ludwig.
