The first specimen was lot 616 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €170 (about US$229 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG-LÜNEBURG, HERZOGTUM Friedrich, 1636-1648. Reichstaler o. J. (1643/1648), Zellerfeld. Kl. Kratzer, sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Celle, Frederick, 1636-48, undated thaler, Zellerfeld mint. Scratches, very fine.)"
The second specimen was lot 55611 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $1,140. The catalog description[2] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Calenberg & Luneburg (Celle). Taler, ND (1643-48). Zellerfeld Mint. Friedrich V. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, Unc Details. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type is known dated 1644-HS as well as the undated specimen shown here.
