This specimen was lot 5629 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €550 (about US$766 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-LÜNEBURG, FÜRSTENTUM, Georg Wilhelm, 1648-1665. 1/8 Reichstaler 1659, Zellerfeld, auf den Tod seiner Mutter Anna Eleonora von Hessen-Darmstadt am 6. Mai. Schöne Patina, vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung eines Ingenieurs. Exemplar der Auktion Dr. Busso Peus Nachf. 385, Frankfurt/Main 2005, Nr. 2780. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg, George William, 1648-65, one eighth thaler of 1659, Zellerfeld mint, on the death of his mother on May 6. Beautiful patina, extremely fine.)"
Georg Wilhelm was promoted to duke of Brunswick-Luneburg-Celle on the death of his brother Christian Ludwig in 1665 and he ruled in Celle until 1705.
