This specimen was lot 73143 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it sold for $900. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRITISH WEST AFRICA. 1/10 Penny, 1936-H. Birmingham (Heaton) Mint. Edward VIII. PCGS SPECIMEN-65. A handsome and appealing Gem specimen, this wonderful piece delivers an intensity of eye appeal and charm throughout." This type was issued 1936 only and is one of the few issues bearing the name of the short-reigned king Edward VIII. Of the three mints (London, King's Norton and Heaton), this is the scarcest.

Recorded mintage: 1,404,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 1.9 g, copper-nickel, 20 mm diameter.
