This specimen was lot 310 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €1,700 (about US$2,291 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM Georg Wilhelm, 1619-1640. Reichstaler 1628, LM, Cöln. R Sehr schön. (Germany, electorate of Brandenburg, George William, 1619-40, thaler of 1628, Cologne mint. Scarce, very fine.)"
This type of 1628-33 is rare and expensive even by the standard of this state, whose thalers prior to Frederick the Great are generally rare.
