Brabant 1628(s) liard
This specimen was lot 1173 in Jean Elsen sale 153 (Brussels, December 2022), where it sold for €170 (about US$215 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRABANT, Duché, Philippe IV (1621-1665), Cu liard, 1628, Maastricht. D/ Briquet entouré d'une couronne et des écus d'Autriche, Bourgogne et Brabant. R/ Ecu couronné, accosté de la date. Rare. Très Beau. (duchy of Brabant, Philip IV, 1621-65, copper liard of 1628, Maastricht mint. Obverse: firesteel with the crowns and arms of Austria, Burgundy and Brabant; reverse: crowned arms divide the date. Rare, Very Fine.)"
The SCWC lists this type for 1629-30 and 1632. This unlisted date is likely very rare. The mintmark is a star at the top of the obverse.
