This is an example of a type struck 1808-09 and 1813-25 at Potosi, Bolivia (then called Upper Peru). It is a slightly better date of its type. Harris[1] notes that Potosi two reales of Ferdinand VII are the third commonest mint after Mexico City and Lima. The specimen shown is boldly double struck on the obverse; it is uncertain if this is caused by die bounce or if it is a true doubled die.

Recorded mintage: 66,000.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.896 fine silver, .195 troy oz ASW.
