The first specimen was lot 462 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 130 euro (about US$206 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"1804. Potosí. PJ. 8 reales. Pátina. Bella. Escasa así. EBC. (eight reales of 1804, Potosí mint. Toned, attractive, scarce thus, extremely fine.)"

The second specimen was lot 3784 in Stephen Album sale 39 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $78. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOLIVIA: Carlos IV, 1788-1808, AR 8 reales, 1804, assayer PJ, a few wispy obverse scratches, a few tiny chopmarks, Fine." The assayer PJ appears for 1803-24.

Recorded mintage: 3,074,000.

Specification: 27.07 grams, 0.896 fine silver, .780 troy oz ASW.
