This specimen was lot 75093 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $170.80. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOLIVIA. Real, 1776-PTS PR. Potosi Mint. Charles III. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details. From the Richard August Collection." This is an example of a type struck 1773-89 at Potosi, Bolivia (then called Upper Peru). It was replaced in 1791 by the bust of Charles IV. Harris[2] notes that Potosi one reales of Charles III are nearly tied with Mexico City as the commonest mint. Assayer PR is recorded for 1776-95.
