This specimen was lot 72119 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $432. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOLIVIA. Cob 8 Reales, 1723-P Y. Potosi Mint. Philip V. PCGS EF-40. A decently struck and expressive obverse, with mintmark, assayer, and three digit date clear. The reverse shows only the mintmark and denomination. From the S.P. Rutherford Collection." This type was struck for Philip V through his entire reign. Assayer Y stamped coins 1701-28. The silver cobs were debased from 0.931 fine to 0.917 fine in 1728.
