Bohemia 1614 thaler Dav-3061
This specimen was lot 4131 in Sincona sale 34 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 8,000 CHF (about US$9,497 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Matthias, 1612-1619 Taler 1614. Prag Münzmeister Benedikt Huebmer. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Fast FDC. Prachtvolle Erhaltung mit herrlicher Patina. (Holy Roman Empire, Matthias, 1612-19, thaler of 1614, Prague mint, mintmaster Benedikt Huebmer. Very rare in this condition, About uncirculated, Beautiful condition with magnificent patina.)"
This issue of 1613-19, while not rare, is priced about double that of a common Prague mint thaler such as Dav-3136.
