Sincona sale 47, lot 1989

This specimen was lot 1989 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 550 CHF (about US$660 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Heiliges Romisch Reich, Ferdinand I. 1521-1564. Vierteltaler 1559, Kuttenberg. Der Jahrgang von grösster Seltenheit. Fast sehr schön. (Holy Roman Empire, Austria, Ferdinand I, 1521-64, quarter thaler of 1559, Kuttenberg mint. Rare date, About very fine.)"

This type is a product of the Kuttenberg mint in Bohemia.
