This specimen was lot 30027 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $998.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Bhopal. Shah Jahan Begam Nazarana 2 Rupees AH1286 Year 2 (1869) AU58 NGC. A scarce one-year issue with attractively toned surfaces and aesthetically pleasing design inscriptions of the Sunni kalima. This offering presents nearly-uncirculated detail, with limited wear affecting only the highest-points, and light ghosting that appears only on the obverse. An ideal representative of the type, visually appealing and with a coveted technical designation to match." This one year type is scarce to rare.
