Sincona sale 47, lot 2643

This specimen was lot 2643 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$300 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND, Bern, Stadt und Kanton, 20 Kreuzer 1787. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Fast FDC. (city and canton of Bern, twenty kreuzer of 1787. Rare in this condition, About uncirculated.)"

This is the final date of a type struck 1758-59, 1764, 1776-77, 1787. Twenty kreuzer was one-sixth of a convention thaler but later equal to four batzen or 1/10 thaler.
