This specimen was lot 865 in Jean Elsen sale 138 (Brussels, September 2018), where it sold for €95 (about US$132 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BELGIQUE, Royaume, Léopold Ier (1831-1865), AR 1/4 de franc, 1844. presque Superbe. (kingdom of Belgium, Leopold I, 1831-65, silver quarter franc of 1844, about Extremely Fine.)"
This type was struck for Leopold I 1834-35 and 1841-44 with no date being really common.
Recorded mintage: 966,000, final and most common date.
Specification: 1.25 g, 0.900 fine silver.
