This specimen was lot 623 in Ponterio sale 182 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $681.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Bavaria. Taler, 1836. NGC MS-63. Lightly toned and lustrous." This type was issued 1830-37 and was called a kronenthaler; the subsequent type (KM 852) was reduced to 18.52 grams.
