Künker sale 263, lot 613

This specimen was lot 613 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €190 (about US$246 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Bavaria, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH Maximilian I. (IV.) Joseph, 1799-1806-1825. Konv.-Taler 1803. Leicht justiert, sehr schön +. (kingdom of Bavaria, Maximilian Joseph, 1806-1825, convention thaler of 1803. Light adjustment marks, very fine or better.)"

This issue of 1803 is among the last minted before Napoleon promoted Maximilian from Elector to King.

Recorded mintage: unknown but somewhat scarce.

Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver, lettered edge.
