This specimen was lot 1091 in Jean Elsen sale 123 (Brussels, December 2014), where it sold for €90 (about US$131 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ALLEMAGNE, BAVIERE, Maximilien III Joseph (1745-1777), AR Konventionstaler, 1756, Droit: B. à droite. Revers: La Madone à l'enfant. Très Beau. (Germany, Bavaria, Maximilian Joseph (1745-77) silver convention thaler of 1756. Obverse: bust to right; reverse: Madonna and Child. Very fine.)"
This type was struck 1754-59 simultaneously with a "shield" thaler (Dav-1948). Both are common.
