This specimen was lot 4729 in Goldberg sale 65 (Los Angeles, September 2011), where it sold for $230. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States - Bavaria. Taler, 1755. Maximilian III Joseph, 1745-1777. Bust right. Reverse: Crowned and supported arms. Reverse adjustment marks. Retoned. About Extremely Fine." This type was struck 1753-59 simultaneously with a "Madonna" thaler (Dav-1952). Both are common.
