Bavaria 1747 24 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 3538 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €2,800 (about US$3,664 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1623 KURFÜRSTENTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH: Maximilian III. Joseph, 1745-1777. 24 Kreuzer (Sechsbätzner) 1747, München. Sehr selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Feine Patina, fast vorzüglich. (Germany, electorate of Bavaria, Maximilian III Joseph, 1745-77, 24 kreuzer or six batzen of 1747, Munich mint. Very rare, especially in this quality. Fine patina, about extremely fine.)"
This rare coin is the only issue of this denomination from this state. It weighed more than the thirty kreuzer issued at the same time, so it must have been an experiment that failed.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: silver, 31-32 mm diameter, this specimen 10.27 g.
