Künker Auction 439, lot 2369

This specimen was lot 2369 in Künker sale 439 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €4,000 (about US$5,503 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1623 KURFÜRSTENTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH Maximilian III. Joseph, 1745-1777. Dukat 1747, München, auf seine Vermählung mit Maria Anna, Tochter von Friedrich August, König von Polen und Kurfürst von Sachsen. Stempel unsigniert, von F. A. Schega. GOLD. R Winz. Schrötlingsfehler, fast vorzüglich. (electorate of Bavaria, Maximilian III Joseph, 1745-77, ducat of 1747, Munich mint, on his marriage to Maria Ana, daughter of Frederick Augustus, king of Poland and elector of Saxony. Unsigned dies by F. A. Schega. Rare, minor planchet defects, about extremely fine.)"

This scarce ducat accompanied a five ducats (Fr-245) also honoring the marriage.
